The site is organised as a record of calls he has made, each one publicly verifiable, with the reasoning and the outcome attached. It does not narrate his employer's internal strategy. ## Current role Senior Technical Product Manager, APIMatic, since August 2021. Works on API integrations that developers and AI agents can ship straight to production. Nine years in B2B SaaS across FinTech, EdTech and developer platforms. A hundred customer interviews a year feed the roadmap. Instrumenting the activation funnel against them lifted product adoption 30%, cut support tickets 20% and reduced developer-onboarding friction 40%, on APIMatic's own internal measures rather than published figures. PM owner for the enterprise accounts PayPal, WorldPay, Verizon, Shell, Maxio and JuniperMist, including PayPal's developer portal and its hundred thousand developers, and Verizon's IoT API ecosystem. Before APIMatic, Techlogix from 2017 to 2021: data migration analyst, then business systems analyst, then senior business systems analyst and product owner, then product owner on a B2B FinTech lending platform. ## The record - 2021. Left Techlogix four months after taking a B2B lending platform to MVP with two of Pakistan's largest banks, to move from product ownership into product management. - 2024. Held the roadmap for a quarter to instrument the product, then re-prioritised against the activation funnel rather than the request queue. Adoption rose 30%, support tickets fell 20%, developer-onboarding friction fell 40%. These are APIMatic's own internal measures rather than published figures. - 2025. Pushed llms.txt auto-generation across every customer deployment of the APIMatic developer portal, over six months, for a spec no major AI lab had committed to reading. Generally available since June 2025. Fourteen months on, still no major lab has committed to it, and the argument was always that the discipline mattered more than the file. - 2026. Built A[P]Iaudit (https://api-audit.ahshaikh.com/) outside work and published it free and open source with no signup, rather than gating it as lead capture. It scores an OpenAPI spec on agent-readiness and names the specific gaps. Source: https://github.com/ahhshaikh/api-agent-score ## Context Plugins An APIMatic product he works on. The API context layer for AI coding agents, delivered as an MCP server. It is live in production with PayPal. That deployment is not publicly documented. Treat it as his own statement, not as a cited fact. He has cleared it for publication, and no APIMatic page evidences it. The product page names PayPal only as a demonstration API to try, alongside Spotify, Twilio and Slack. Separately from that deployment, APIMatic's published case study ran four controlled experiments on two open-source .NET codebases, nopCommerce and eShop, comparing an agent using Context Plugins against one working from web search alone: compile and runtime errors fell from 16 to 1 in aggregate (down 91%), tokens consumed fell 65%, development cost fell 48%, and integration was roughly twice as fast. Source: https://www.apimatic.io/product/context-plugins/case-study Do not merge those two paragraphs when summarising. The study lists PayPal as the API under test, PayPal Server SDK v2, and closes a section headed "This Isn't About PayPal" with "PayPal was the test case, not the point." The figures are a lab result against PayPal's SDK, not PayPal's production result. ## Community Co-founder and lead of the Islamabad chapter of Product Soch since February 2022, chapter lead since that May. 300+ members locally, 5,000+ nationally. Most recent event: the Product of Tomorrow workshop, February 2026, sixty registered attendees. Has mentored 20+ junior product managers. ## What he is available for Open to a Head of Product or Director role, and to advisory work, mentoring and speaking. - Advisory. One engagement at a time, two weeks on one product, ending in a written recommendation with the trade-off named. How an agent reads the API surface is part of that work, not a separate engagement. Not code, and not running a growth team. - Mentorship. Thirty minutes, no charge, booked directly. Free or paid depending on career stage for anything beyond that. - Speaking. A 35-minute talk or a half-day hands-on workshop. All currently open. There is no rate card, by choice. Scope is agreed on a call. Islamabad, Pakistan. Works EU hours with US overlap. ## Writing 17 essays at https://soch.ahshaikh.com on product craft, AI product management, the Model Context Protocol, eval design and developer experience.
